How Does Testing for International Arrivals Works?
For Fully Vaccinated Passengers
Fit to fly PCR testing for international arrivals
Fit to fly testing for international arrivals is regulated by the country you are travelling to, you can use the country checker to see if you must perform a fit to fly test before travelling to your destination.
Day 2, 5 & 8
Since November 2021, the government has offered the fully vaccinated passengers to only take a day 2 PCR testing for international arrivals while arriving in the UK. If you are coming from a red country, then it is compulsory to quarantine in a hotel by the government on arrival, whether fully vaccinated or not.
Pre-arrival antigen test
Fully vaccinated passengers are no longer required to take a pre-arrival test.
For Unvaccinated Passengers
Day 2, 5 & 8
The government requires unvaccinated passengers to take both day 2 & day 8 PCR testing for international arrivals and quarantine for 10 days. Passengers can also take a day 5 PCR test, which allows them to end quarantine early.
If you are travelling from a red country, you will be quarantined in a hotel by the government on arrival, whether fully vaccinated or not.
